3 Traits of the best.

One of the best. Rob Burrow MBE.

Having coached in the day to day of performance team sport after the best part of 20 years. I wanted to summarise 3 traits of the best of the best in world rugby league, the toughest of sports.

It’s no coincidence that the top players, (of which I have been privileged to coach many) are champions of the sport but also the best of people.

1) Effort – our actions define us. There is simply no excuse for not trying hard. Outwork your peers, outwork your opponents. A non-negotiable.

1) Humility – win, lose or draw. Being gracious enough to accept the outcome, listen, reflect and review. The offerings of others or the occasional set back can be a blessing if received right.

1) Gratitude – the power of a ‘thank you’. Regardless of status in an organisation or team, showing true gratitude to others is a pillar of the highest performing players & coaches.

I’m grateful to many for their influences on my journey. 🙌

Ultimately, we should all strive to be a better team-mate.
